    WHY REPLACE YOUR CURRENT PILLOW

Pillows are an essential part of building your perfect sleep system, but finding the right pillow online that provides support and comfort for your head and neck is not an easy task, and the wrong pillow will reduce your sleep quality and quantity.

For these reasons, Furniture for Backs, only stocks premium quality, Australian made contoured pillows. Our pillows come in traditional foam, latex and memory foam, and all at affordable prices.

Are you a predominately a side, back or stomach sleeper?

    Side Sleepers

The space between your head and the mattress surface is greater therefore you require a thicker pillow (relative to your size).

    Back Sleepers

The space between your head and the mattress surface is less therefore you require a thinner pillow (relative to your size).

    Stomach Sleepers

The space between your head and the mattress surface is the least therefore you require a very thin pillow (relative to your size). Health care practitioners don’t recommend this sleeping position, as it compromises the cervical & lumbar spine. However, if this is the only position whereby you can sleep effectively, then so be it.

    FAQs

How important is it to choose the right pillow?

Although the pillow, compared to the mattress, is much smaller in size and far less expensive, it still requires careful consideration. Just as your mattress should provide good support for your body, your pillow should give you the right cushioning and support for your head and neck. The right pillow will enable you to experience a deep sleep, so you awaken fresh.

Contour-shaped pillows are recommended because their shape will blend more with the inherent shape of our head and neck.

Every 2 years, not necessary for mechanical support reasons, but for hygiene. Sweat and dirt from our hair will eventually degrade the pillow and reduce its hygiene properties.

Mattress firmness depends on what your body specifically needs. Firm, medium and plush are all equally great. As a generalisation, firm for the young, medium for middle age and plush for seniors. However, there are exceptions. If you’re unsure as to which level of firmness is right for you, don’t hesitate to contact our office and book your free appointment for a personalised assessment.
