Step 0: Choose a Mattress Size

Things to consider: Personal preference, room size, number of persons in bed etc.

Step 0: Is a Base required?

The mattress base needs to support the new mattress effectively. Like mattresses, over a 7-10 year period, bases will begin to slump, sag or creak also. To be certain that maximum body support from your new mattress is achieved, simply purchase a new matching base. Same applies for slatted beds.

Step 1: Choose a Mattress Support System

Use past experience as a guide and stick to what you know. Replace your current spring mattress with a new spring mattress. Or replace your current latex mattress with a new latex mattress. Attempt to identify the specifications of your current mattress, so that you can find the same or similar mattress online.

If you wish to choose a different mattress variety, say spring to latex, or latex to spring because you have recently slept on an opposing variety and loved it. Same advice applies. Simply identify the specifications of the trialled mattress, so that you can find the same or similar mattress online.

Utilise the Mattress Selector to assist with this process and click on FAQ on the menu bar above for further information. And certainly contact Customer Service should you require confirmation of your choice, or simply require further information.

Step 1a: Choose a Mattress Spring System

  • Some Partner Disturbance acceptable.
  • Postural & spinal health is generally good.
  • No other medical / mechanical complexities exist.
  • Are of a younger age group.
  • Have a limited budget.
  • Mattress used intermittently.
  • Where supreme luxury is less of a priority.
Suitable purchasers, as a guide, for a LUXURY             POCKET COIL system could be those with:
  • Very minimal Partner Disturbance is required.
  • Postural & spinal health problems are present.
  • Other medical / mechanical complexities exist.
  • Middle age to elderly age groups.
  • No budgetary constraints.
  • Mattress to be used most nights.
  • Supreme luxury is priority.

Step 1b: Choose a Pocket Coil Type

Suitable purchases for the slightly FIRMER                 Premium Pocket Coil could be those whom:

  • Prefer a Firm Density mattress
  • Utilises standard 2 inch diameter coil
  • Require reasonable spine/coil conformance
Suitable purchases for the FIRM-MEDIUM                      Prestige Micro Pocket Coil could be those whom:
  • Prefer a Firm-Medium Density mattress
  • Utilises a smaller 1 inch diameter coil
  • Require maximal spine/coil conformance

Step 2: Choose a mattress profile?

Firm feel (Tight top) - Provides minimal pressure relief. Generally for those whom have very good musculoskeletal health. No history of major injuries/trauma, surgeries or conditions causing chronic pain. Or those whom are healthy and simply prefer a firm feel.

Medium feel (Pillow top) - Provides moderate pressure relief. Generally for those whom require some pressure relief because they have some musculoskeletal complaint. Perhaps a history of poor posture, spinal pain of some description, some surgical history. Or those whom are healthy and simply prefer some ‘give’.

Plush feel (Gussett top) - Provides major pressure relief. Generally for those whom require major pressure relief because their body is quite sore. Conditions like fibromyalgia or the various forms of arthritis, maybe a hip replacement, or diabetes. Or those whom are healthy and simply prefer a super soft feel.
